Allergy Testing & Treatment

If you have problems with pollens, dust, sinus congestion, runny nose, sneezing, headaches, itchy watery eyes or fatigue, you should consider allergy testing. You may also consider allergy testing if you are bothered by grasses, trees, molds, cats, dogs, ragweed or other allergens. While some allergy symptoms present clearly in patients, Dr. Crist also has patients with hidden allergies. In those cases, allergy skin testing usually reveals a number of positive reactions, of which the patient was unaware.

Dr. Crist treats allergies with allergy drops under the tongue (sublingual), versus with shots, antihistamines or prescription drugs. These allergy drops can be taken in your home, so there are fewer appointments at the doctor’s office. The first dose of sublingual allergy drops for treatment is received in the office.

LDA

Dr. Crist also treats patients with Low Dose Antigen (LDA) for food allergies. There are several other treatment options with LDA, such as sensitivity to chemicals, autoimmune diseases, arthritis, gastrointestinal disorders, etc.

LDA is given sublingually, and can be taken in your home or while traveling. The first dose of LDA is received by patients in the office.
